Vote Edward McMillan-Scott for Vice-President again!

This website has been set up to support the re-election of Edward McMillan-Scott (here at an Amnesty rally) as an ALDE Vice-President of the European Parliament.

Edward was first elected Vice-President of the European Parliament (EP) in 2004. His portfolio includes democracy and human rights. He founded the EU’s €150 million Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR). He chairs the EP’s Audit Panel and since 2004 has represented the EP to the EU’s national parliaments.

Edward was first elected in 1984 for Yorkshire & Humber UK and is a strong pro-European who argues for more Europe, not less. He was leader of the Conservative MEPs and renegotiated their alliance with the EPP. After this was broken by Prime Minister David Cameron he left the Conservative Party in protest and joined the Liberal Democrats.

Edward a été élu Vice-président du Parlement Européen (PE) pour la première fois en 2004. Son portefeuille inclus la promotion de démocratie et les droits humains. Il a fondé l'Instrument européen pour la démocratie et les droits de l'homme (IEDDH), allouant € 150million. Il préside le panneau d'audit interne du parlement européen et depuis 2004 il a représenté le Parlement vis-à-vis les parlements nationaux.

Edward a d'abord été élu en 1984 et est un européen convaincu qui plaide pour davantage d'Europe, pas moins. Il a été leader des MPE conservateurs et a renégocié leur alliance avec le PPE. Après la rupture opérée par le Premier ministre David Cameron, il a quitté le Parti conservateur eurosceptique en plein essor en signe de protestation et a rejoint les libéraux-démocrates.

Diese Webseite wurde mit dem Ziel gegründet die Wiederwahl von Edward McMillan-Scott zum ALDE Vizepräsidenten des Europaparlaments zu unterstützen.

Edward wurde 2004 das erste Mal zum Vizepräsidenten des Europarlaments gewählt. Sein Portfolio umfasst Demokratie und Menschenrechte. Er ist Vorsitzender des 'Audit Panel' des Europarlaments und vertritt seit 2004 das Europaparlament gegenüber den nationalen Parlamenten.

Edward wurde 1984 das erste Mal zum Abgeordneten in Yorkshire & Humber, Großbritannien gewählt und ist ein überzeugter Pro-Europäer der für mehr, nicht für weniger Europa plädiert. Er war das Oberhaupt der Konservativen Mitglieder des Europaparlaments und hat ihre Allianz mit der EVP Fraktion neu verhandelt. Nachdem Premierminister David Cameron diese Allianz gebrochen hat, verließ Edward McMillan-Scott in Protesthaltung die Konservative Partei und wurde zum Mitglied der Liberalen Demokraten.

Edward believes that MEPs should have the right to decide when and where they meet. He set up the cross-party Brussels-Strasbourg Seat Study Group to provide objective information - and pledges to continue if re-elected Vice-President
